Car rolls at Nonoti killing passenger
The driver sustained moderate injuries, but was able to walk away.
A 36-year-old man died this afternoon after the car in which he was a passenger lost control and rolled multiple times near Nonoti.
The driver of the car, a 43-year-old man, sustained moderate injuries and was later taken to hospital by paramedics for further check ups, said IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson, Dylan Meyrick.
At around 4.30pm, the duo were driving southbound after the Nonoti River bridge, when they allegedly lost control before rolling and coming to rest next to the road.
“The driver of the car claimed they were victims of an attempted hijacking, which is what caused them to crash,” he said.
The incident is being investigated by KwaDukuza Saps.
