Eskom extends loadshedding until Monday
Breakdowns of five generating units overnight, two of which have returned to service, have exacerbated current generation capacity shortages, forcing the escalation of loadshedding.

Eskom has announced that stage 3 loadshedding will continue until 5am tomorrow (Friday) morning, after which stage 3 and then stage 2 will again be implemented over the weekend.
Stage 3 is back from 4pm tomorrow afternoon and will last until 5am on Saturday morning, after which stage 2 will be in place until 5am on Monday morning.
Eskom will publish a further update on Sunday, or as soon as any further significant changes occur.
Breakdowns of five generating units overnight, two of which have returned to service, have exacerbated current generation capacity shortages, forcing the escalation of loadshedding.

Two generation units at Kendal and one at Kusile power stations were taken offline for repairs.
