Shayamoya baker and pastor Fox is on the rise [WATCH]

Zungu used to work as bakery manager at various big brand supermarkets, but in 2020 realised there was a business opportunity in his township.

The sky is the limit for 32-year-old pastor Fox Zungu, who took a leap of faith by becoming an entrepreneur.

He now runs the successful Mnandi Bakery in Shayamoya.

Zungu used to work as bakery manager at various big brand supermarkets, but in 2020 realised there was a business opportunity in his township.

“I had always wanted to build a legacy for my family, so when I saw there was a market for bread around me, I took the plunge. I enjoy baking.”

Zungu focuses on baking bread for now to meet the demand, but he does bake cakes on request.

Apart from his popular bunny chow bread and brown bread, he is widely known for his super yellow bread (also known as raisin bread).

“That’s my best-seller. As much as I receive many questions about my yellow bread, the recipe will always remain a secret.”

He supplies tuck shops in townships around KwaDukuza.

The father of six – three boys and three girls – is also a pastor at the Rehoboth Family Church.

The baker was one of the iLembe Chamber of Commerce’s entrepreneurs competition finalists.

He said he learnt a lot during the competition and will always be grateful for the guidance given to him.

If not busy in his bakery, he attends business seminars and networks to market his bakery.
