Man collapses after walking 18km to find help after accident at Zinkwazi
Paramedics arriving at the scene declared one person dead and resuscitated another who had a heart attack.
A man collapsed after walking 18km to find help following a car accident on the N2 near Zinkwazi in which one person died and three others were injured earlier this morning.
IPSS Medical Rescue media liaison officer, Ethan Somerville, reported the car veered off the highway, dropping some 30 metres down an embankment leaving passengers with injuries ranging from minor to critical.
One of the passengers was able to walk to the Mandini toll plaza to seek help.
Medics who arrived at the scene declared one person dead while also treating a passenger who starting having a heart attack.
Advanced life support medics successfully resuscitated the patient before transporting the injured to a nearby hospital for further care.
