Man stabbed on N2 at Ballito after car breaks down
The 26-year-old was stabbed twice in the chest.
A 26-year-old man was stabbed near the northbound N2 Ballito off-ramp this morning when, it is believed, his car broke down.
It is unclear at exactly what time the incident occurred, but paramedics arrived on scene just after 7am to attend to the man who had been stabbed twice in the chest.
“He was found sitting in the driver’s seat, with two of the vehicle’s tyres slashed. It appears that he broke down and was robbed,” said Medi Response KZN spokesperson, Paul Herbst.
The man was stabilised and conscious when transported to hospital for further treatment.
It is a sobering reminder of the dangers of breaking down on South African roads, even when on a busy section of the highway.
“Please immediately alert your security provider in the event of encountering roadside breakdowns,” said Herbst.
