Two teens rescued from near drowning in Ballito

The teens were taken to a hospital in Stanger.

Two teens narrowly escaped drowning at Salmon Bay in Ballito this afternoon.

The beach is not a swimming beach and is therefore not lifeguard protected.

They were both estimated to be about 15 years old and were already under the water when rescuers reached them.

“The two youngsters were rescued from the water in a combined effort between Specialised Rescue Unit, IPSS Medical Rescue and KDM Lifeguards,” said Dylan Meyrick from IPSS Medical Rescue.

The teenagers were transported to a hospital in Stanger.
