Breakdowns cripple Eskom as stage 6 loadshedding takes effect

Stage 6 loadshedding has been implemented until further notice.

In a wicked turn of events, the planned ‘until further notice’ stage 4 loadshedding has been upped to stage 6 Eskom announced this afternoon.

A high number of breakdowns necessitated the move to stage 6, worsened by the need to preserve remaining generating reserves at Eskom’s disposal.

A full statement on the situation is expected from the state-owned utility provider.
