Stage 6 loadshedding to run until further notice
Stage 6 loadshedding was implemented this morning owing to the breakdown of eight generating units.
Stage 6 loadshedding will run until further notice, Eskom informed this morning after the excess use of open cycle gas turbines and pumped storage generation, following the breakdown of eight generating units.
According to the state-owned utility provider, emergency reserves at present are critically low and need to be conserved.
