Body of unidentified man brought to shore at Umdloti South Beach

The body was spotted floating about 200m offshore.

Police are on their way to Umdloti South Beach after the body of an unidentified male was brought to shore.

According to the Community Emergency Response Team’s (CERT) Nazir Sadack, the man’s body was spotted floating at sea about 200m offshore and was recovered by CERT volunteers and lifeguards.

“It looks as if the body may have been at sea for a few days,” Sadack said, suggesting it may be a bather who went missing in Durban a few days ago.

This is a developing story.

Umdloti South Beach is not a protected beach.
