Teenager drowns in farm dam near Stanger
The youngster allegedly entered the dam to retrieve a soccer ball.
The body of a 14-year-old boy who drowned in a dam in the Makovane area near Stanger earlier today was recovered by police divers this afternoon.
According to Dylan Meyrick of IPSS Medical Rescue, the boy allegedly entered the farm dam to retrieve a soccer ball.
“Unfortunately he got into difficulty and disappeared beneath the water,” said Meyrick.
A search was conducted by paramedics and Saps search and rescue teams and the body was retrieved at a location indicated by the K9 unit’s dog, Dante.
