Sitting down with Ballito flow artist Ali Cockburn [WATCH]
The Courier met with Cockburn at her home studio to find out more about her history and the process of creating the unique paintings.
Ballito’s Ali Cockburn is one of the North Coast’s best known artists, creating paintings using an unusual pour technique with a few extra trade secrets mixed in.
Cockburn found art later in life after a career in public relations, but soon found a niche that was both commercially successful and creatively fulfilling.
Using specific paints and mixing techniques, she creates abstract art that reflects the nature which surrounds her Ballito home, often eliciting images of the ocean or coastal forest.
These paintings have been exhibited in galleries worldwide, with prints thereof finding another market in interior design on linen and wallpapers.
