Ashton matrics celebrate top marks

Landing at the top with stellar results was Danielle Boshoff with three As on A Level and three more As on AS Level. In total, Danielle obtained 11 distinctions and scored an average of 94.3 percent across the board.

By the time Ashton International College Ballito matriculants received their Cambridge International exam results on Tuesday, three bottles of champagne had spontaneously popped on their own as a sign of good things to come.

Ashton matriculants were the first in the country to receive their results, with Ashton CEO Andre Buys sharing how ecstatic they were with the results overall.

“The averages in some of the subjects are phenomenal, and marks another 100 percent pass rate,” he said.

Landing at the top with stellar results was Danielle Boshoff with three As on A Level and three more As on AS Level. In total, Danielle obtained 11 distinctions and scored an average of 94.3 percent across the board.

“This just adds to Danielle’s achievements on the Cambridge curriculum where she was the top of the class in both Afrikaans and physical sciences on the IGCSE level in 2021,” Buys said.

Matriculants at Ashton International College Ballito were the first in the country to receive their Cambridge results on Tuesday.

Danielle will be studying medicine at the University of Stellenbosch.

Special mention was also made of Gabriella Khoury and Samika Moodley, who obtained 11 and 10 distinctions respectively, followed by Nicolas Govender (six distinctions), Pia Govender (four distinctions) and Paige Dawson (four distinctions).

Senior college head, Caryn Brinkley, noted that every subject written had returned at least one distinction, with special mention made of mathematics, accounting, English, geography, chemistry, biology and physics.

“A Level chemistry, business, biology and accounting all returned averages above 85 percent. With this first set of results we eagerly await the release of our IGCSE results next week, followed by the IEB results,” she said.
