Sharing the spirit of ubuntu, Ballito Lions bring relief to Vulamehlo Hospice
President of the Ballito Lions Club, Ken Chapman, and project director Paul Naidoo promised Khumalo they would return to fix her gutters and construct a concrete base to secure her water tank.
The Ballito Lions Club brought much needed relief to the Vulamehlo Hospice in Melville recently with a food hamper donation during the festive period.
Managed by 81-year-old Elizabeth Khumalo, Vulamehlo Hospice has been operating for 14 years and is now home to 10 terminally ill patients.
Khumalo does not receive any form of government assistance and the hospice has to survive on donations.
“I am grateful to The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund for connecting us with the Ballito Lions Club. Because of their generous donation, many families had something to eat on Christmas,” said Khumalo.
