SPCA pleads with owners to collect lost pets
More than 100 animals between Umdloti and the Tugela River have been taken into the care of the Durban and Coast SPCA between December and January.
While fireworks by-laws were mostly adhered to during the festive season, more than 100 animals between Umdloti and the Tugela River have been taken into the care of the Durban and Coast SPCA.
Marketing manager Tanya Fleischer told the Courier they had taken into their care some 102 pets between December and January so far.
“Fireworks were luckily not as bad this year and no incidents were reported to us,” she said.
Fleischer urged pet owners to ensure their pets are microchipped as this was the quickest way to identify and track down owners.
“If you have lost your pet, visit us to check if your pet is perhaps with us,” she concluded.
