Body discovered at Salt Rock tidal pool

No identifying documents were found on his person and it is currently unknown who he was or how he got into difficulty at the pool.

The body of a young man, believed to be in his early twenties, was discovered by early morning bathers at Salt Rock tidal pool this morning.

No identifying documents were found on his person and it is currently unknown who he was or how he got into difficulty at the pool.

“All we know that he was already experiencing rigor mortis which indicates that he drowned last night rather than this morning,” said IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson, Samantha Meyrick.

The body was handed over to Umhlali Saps for further investigation.
