Maintenance is key to good gardening

Local garden enthusiasts received much food for thought at the Umhlali and District Garden and Flower Club meeting at the All Souls Anglican Church last Wednesday.
Guest speaker, landscape and gardening guru Chris Dalzell, stressed the importance of proper garden maintenance to achieve the best results.
He said people should not be afraid of change when planting and designing their gardens.
“We are one of the most fortunate countries in the world. We have about 18 000 plants at our disposal and we should make use of that. However, it is important to know what you put in the soil to minimise problems in the future,” said Dalzell.
