One dead and two injured in Tongaat scaffolding collapse

The three construction workers fell from an estimated height of 15 metres.

A construction worker died and two others were seriously injured when they plummeted about 15 metres after the scaffolding they were working on in Tongaat collapsed.

Medics rushed to the scene at a construction site, and after assessing the injured men, two were rushed to a Tongaat hospital in serious condition, while the third was airlifted to a hospital in Umhlanga.

“One of the patients unfortunately passed away in hospital,” IPSS Medical Rescue’s Samantha Meyrick said.
