Ramaphosa kicks off election campaign with door-to-door visits at Lindelani
Ramaphosa urged KwaDukuza residents to support the ANC in next year's general elections, saying the party was well-equipped to create jobs and end loadshedding.
President Cyril Ramaphosa took to the streets of KwaDukuza on Saturday, kicking off the election campaign ahead of next year’s national and provincial elections.
In his capacity as president of the African National Congress (ANC), Ramaphosa urged residents to register for the elections.
After a blitz through the town, Ramaphosa, accompanied by the daughter of late Chief Albert Luthuli, visited the chief’s memorial site to lay wreaths.
The president thereafter enjoyed a lunch with veterans before heading off to Lindelani township where he engaged with voters.
He urged residents to support the ANC in the general elections.
He said the party was committed to dealing with the hardships residents faced, promised job creation and also spoke on the appointment of Kgosietso Ramakgopo as the minister of electricity.
After the Lindelani visit, Ramaphosa continued his campaign with stakeholder engagement sessions at KwaDukuza Town Hall and the Simbithi Country Club.
