Bystanders save holidaymaker’s life at Tiffany Beach
The early application of CPR made all the difference.
A 52-year-old holidaymaker was rushed to hospital after he lost consciousness after hitting his head on a rock while swimming at Tiffany Beach today.
Dylan Meyrick of IPSS Medical Rescue said the Cape Town man was been pulled from the water by bystanders before the arrival of emergency services.
“The bystanders performed CPR for 10 minutes until paramedics arrived. It was established that the man had a pulse and was still breathing. He was stabilised and taken to hospital,” said Meyrick.
He thanked the bystanders, who he said definitely saved the man’s life by initiating early CPR.
