Bloom Centre marks first anniversary with welcome donation from club
The school for children with special needs celebrated at its new location, and received a generous donation from a social touch rugby club.
Bloom Centre recently celebrated its first anniversary since relocating to its new home in Umhlali.
A school for children with special needs, Bloom teaches and cares for children who have been diagnosed with Down Syndrome, autism and other non-specified learning difficulties.
It also has a typical pre-school facility owing to the school’s belief that both neurotypical and neurodiverse children can be integrated from an early foundational phase, allowing for better understanding of those with special needs.
The celebration was not the only highlight on the day, with non-profit social touch rugby club, The Untouchables, coming to support the school with a R35 000 donation.
Jacques Cilliers of the Untouchables said they raised the funds at a recently held golf day at Simbithi. School principal, Kimber Gould, expressed her gratitude for the support.
