North Coasters have spoken and the Courier is delighted to announce your winners in the North Coast Courier Best of Ballito Reader’s Choice Awards for 2023.

This competition was bigger than ever with 1 164 businesses nominated across 150 categories and over 230 000 votes cast.

Congratulations to all the nominees, runners-up and especially the winners!

The “Best of” awards have been popular features of Caxton local newspapers across South Africa for the last 27 years.

It has become synonymous with recognising excellence and gives readers the platform to vote for, and recommend, their favourite local businesses to others.

Business owners are elated at their respective wins in Best of Ballito, with Flag Animal Farm’s Genevieve Chisholm saying she had not expected a win this year.

“It came as a complete surprise. But to me, it serves as recognition from the community that we are doing a great job and speaks volumes of everyone’s support in what we do,” she said, highlighting the win was a dream come true, again.

Having opened at the end of April this year, Jimbo’s Burger Bar owner, Jimbo Harvey also did not expect to win, taking home the award for the best burger.

“I was completely flabbergasted, especially being the new kid on the block when it comes to burgers,” said Jimbo, who was grateful for the community’s support of his business in Best of Ballito.
