Disabled Manqoba Mgenge had to previously be carried around by his mother and grandmother, often on their backs.
Life has taken a turn for the better for disabled Thembeni boy Manqoba Mgenge.
Having always had to be carried on the backs or in the arms of his mother Sithulile Mgenge and grandmother Zandile Xhakaza, the seven-year-old now has mobility and dignity thanks to a wheelchair donation by Wheelchairs of Hope.
Although unfamiliar with sitting upright independently, Manqoba quickly got the idea and started taking more notice of his surroundings.
Community mobiliser Wiggie Hlabisa got the ball rolling by assisting the family with an application for help, after which Ballito-based Morrow Attorneys joined forces with Wizo to fundraise for a wheelchair.
