An Etete couple is in distress after their 21-month-old boy went missing on Monday afternoon.
According to the mother, Phelelwa Mangomba, she left her son, Mvelo, with his grandmother while she fetched water from another shack about 10 metres away.
When she returned the child was nowhere to be seen.
According to the grandmother, the boy followed his mother.
“We looked around the yard with his father, who was sleeping when the boy went missing, but there was no sign of him,” said Mangomba.
Community members also joined the search.

Warrant officer Clinton Odayar of the Umhlali police K9 unit conducted a search today (Tuesday) but no leads were found.
Police will continue the search tomorrow (Thursday).
Community members were still searching for Mvelo when the Courier left the area.
