Woman killed in N2 accident near Ballito
Two female passengers in their early 20s miraculously escaped with only minor injuries.
A 46-year-old woman died after she lost control of her vehicle on the N2 near Ballito during this afternoon’s inclement weather conditions.
According to Medi Response operations manager Kimberly Liell-Cock, the car was travelling north towards KwaDukuza when the driver lost control.
The vehicle rolled multiple times before coming to rest on the opposite lane.
Two female passengers in their early 20s miraculously escaped with only minor injuries.
“The driver suffered extensive injuries and was declared dead on scene,” said Liell-Cock.
The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) issued a statement yesterday, warning the public about heavy rainfall that could lead to flooding in coastal and midland districts of the province today.
