Calling all Umdloti singers
The annual Christmas carols takes place on Sunday, December 10 and although there will not be formal choir auditions, there will be two practice sessions on the Thursday and Saturday before the event.
The annual Umdloti Christmas carols are an absolute community favourite.
This year promises to be extra special with the addition of a community choir to lead the carols. Anyone in the Umdloti community is invited to join.
“We love to include all sorts, including children, to do the Nativity play. This year we decided it would be awesome to have a community choir,” said carols service coordinator, Christy Herselman from Olive Tree Church, Umdloti.

“We encourage those who love to sing, are able to sing and can hold a note to come and be part of it, regardless of whether they attend the church.”
The event takes place on Sunday, December 10 and although there will not be formal choir auditions, Herselman said there will be two practice sessions on the Thursday and Saturday before the event, just to make sure everyone is on the same page.

“The choir will be headed up by our very own skilled drama teacher, Jane Ross. We would love men, women, adults, children, anyone who would like to be involved to join in,” she said.
