Award-winning guitarist James Grace will perform at the All-Souls Anglican Church in Sheffield on Sunday at 3pm.

Regarded as one of South Africa’s most prolific and versatile musicians, Grace maintains a demanding schedule that often takes him throughout southern Africa, Europe and the UAE.

He also performs at major national arts festivals, both as a solo artist and in collaboration with a variety of top musicians, and has built up a large following.

Accolades include the KANNA Award for Best Male Artist at the 2010 Klein Karoo National Arts Festival and the KykNet Fiesta Award for Best Solo Production in 2011.

His seventh solo guitar studio album, Andaluza – Music of Spain III, won the South African Music Award for Best Instrumental Album 2019.

Graduating from the Royal College of Music in London, Grace became the first guitarist in the history of the college to receive the Tagore Gold Medal, an annual award presented to the most outstanding student.

He is currently based in Cape Town where, in addition to his performing and recording activities, he lectures and directs the guitar programme at the University of Cape Town’s College of Music.

On Sunday he will play a popular selection of classical and Spanish guitar favourites.
