iLembe police officers get moving to boost fitness

More than a hundred officers from ten iLembe police stations gathered for a 5km and 10km fun run at the Gledhow sports field.

The Gledhow sports field was no place for criminals last Thursday as it was crawling with police.

It wasn’t a crime prevention operation though, rather a 5km and 10km fun run for more than a hundred cops from ten iLembe police stations.

iLembe Saps spokesperson, Captain Alex Thomson, said the run was part of a fitness promotion programme.

Based on the results, a team of 50 will be chosen to compete in a provincial run for a possible opportunity of participating in the national event.

The women’s top ten in the 5km run.
Cool runnings for Colonel Benny Moodley.
Constable Sibusiso Khuzwayo grinds the uphill.
Sergeant Zungu surges ahead quite comfortably.
KwaDukuza head of detectives, Colonel Bongani Mazibuko sets the pace.
