Ballito petrolhead Shivesh Girdharee proud of his hot Polo

He believes a car must look good and demand attention.

Shivesh Girdharee’s parked car may seem ordinary, but once in motion, the modified Polo 9n3 declares, “I am not your typical ride. “Hailing from Ballito, Girdharee’s love affair with cars was ignited at the young age of 13, shaping a passion that still burns brightly at 27.

For Girdharee, it’s not just about having a car; it’s about crafting a unique identity on the road and standing out from the crowd with each rev of the engine.

Fuelled by a thirst for speed and an appetite for attention-grabbing sounds, Girdharee delved into car audio competitions, later immersing himself in the stance community, fascinated by the elegance of cars skimming the ground.

His modified Polo 9n3 represents his dedication to originality with a touch of personal flair.

Fitted with castor air suspension and OEM TDI split rims, Girdharee has transformed his car into a moving canvas of style.

Despite an investment of about R35 000, Girdharee defends every penny spent, believing it to be justified.

“I believe that a car must look good, it must demand attention. However, I want to be able to drive it daily. Hence I make sure that my modification is within the law, to avoid trouble with traffic officers.”

His car seamlessly blends OEM authenticity with personal customisation.

“I have already invested a considerable amount, but I am not finished yet. I have upcoming modifications planned for the next few months. Additionally, I’ve participated in charity sound competitions around KwaDukuza, securing 1st and 2nd places in two of them,” said Girdharee.

Beyond the thrill of competitions, he finds personal satisfaction in the craft of building cars and, naturally, relishes the responses from fellow gearheads.
