One man was killed and another was severely injured by electrocution while working at the Nkobongo substation this afternoon.

The sub-contractors were transported privately to the Shakaskraal clinic, where despite the efforts of clinic staff and IPSS Medical Rescue paramedics, one of the men died from his injuries.

The second man had also suffered critical injuries, and was airlifted to hospital.

“Our condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased. A big thank you to clinic staff for all their great efforts,” said IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson Samantha Meyrick.
