Top junior golfers ace KZN Masters tournament at Umhlali Country Club

Some of KwaZulu-Natal’s top junior golfers showcased their talent at the Phuza Water KZN Junior Golf Masters, held at Umhlali Country Club on Sunday. Young golfers, aged 6-18, competed across nine and 18-hole formats in the annual event hosted by Central Durban Golf Club.

In the A Division (U18), Callum Lingley clinched first place with a nett 74, followed by Tylo Naidoo (75) and Dylan Bezuidenhout (78). The B Division saw Ryan Douglas win with 35 points in a Stableford format, while Kgosi Motsai took the C Division with 36 points.

In age-specific categories, MZ Vather won the boys’ 6-9 handicap group, shooting 38, and Carter Ross claimed the non-handicap 6-9 title with the same score. Shreya Naidoo dominated the girls’ 6-9 non-handicap group, posting a score of 42 over nine holes.

The boys’ 10-13 non-handicap title went to Vaisham Naidoo who shot 101 over a full 18 holes, while Keemaya Naidu won the girls’ 10-13 category with a score of 111.

The boys’ 14-18 non-handicap division ended in a three-way tie, with Melusi Gwayi emerging victorious on a count-out.

Central Durban Golf Club thanked title sponsor Phuza Water, Umhlali Country Club and all the golfers for a successful day.
