A senior KwaDukuza traffic officer was shot and killed in Groutville this morning.

According to IPSS Medical Rescue’s Samantha Meyrick the incident occurred on the N2 southbound off-ramp.

Details surrounding the shooting remain unclear, but it is reported that he was shot while intervening during an attempted hijacking.

Police are currently searching for the suspect responsible for the murder.
