Sibaya steps up for tornado recovery with R355k uniform donation to Tongaat schools

New threads for pupils.

School uniforms worth R355 000 were delivered to pupils at four tornado affected Tongaat schools last week.

Sibaya Casino & Entertainment Kingdom came alongside the schools after the tornado that hit the North Coast in June left destruction in its wake.

Sibaya general manager Virath Gobrie said that their donation helped 363 pupils. School uniforms and shoes were delivered at Uthongathi and Mitchford primary schools, as well as Tongaat and Nkosibomvu secondary schools to replace what had been lost or damaged.

“We engaged with the schools who submitted letters of request with lists of what was required, and we hope these new uniforms and shoes bring about renewed focus, self-belief and energy as these learners progress towards the end of the academic year,” said Gobrie.
