Reading right makes pupils bright at Umhloti Primary

Pupils put a stamp on their reading achievements.

Twenty-five Grade 2 and 3 Umhloti Primary School pupils put a stamp on their reading achievements this year.

They received certificates, gift bags and books – and a celebratory party to boot – to acknowledge their continued efforts of learning to read.

Party time for Olwakhe Mbanjwa and Avela Ndadaba, who could not wait to tuck into the sweet treats.

They attended weekly reading support lessons by volunteers facilitated by the Gumballs of Love NPO, an organisation dedicated to devoloping children’s literacy skills.

People who wish to support the programme can donate new or used books, or volunteer their services in the 2025 academic year.
