Kasi boy’s music moves have a philanthropic undertone
Sakhile Mdletshe champions causes for disabled people.
It isn’t the swag that sets Groutville’s Sakhile Mdletshe apart; it’s his creativity and passion that have cemented his place in the entertainment industry.
A true jack of all trades, Mdletshe is a content creator, musician and fashionista.
His journey began in 2016 when he started doing what every kasi boy does, recording music in a backroom studio in the township, dreaming of making it big one day.
However, his music career really began to blossom in 2019 when he ventured into content creation.
“Content creation gave me the platform to grow my reach,” said Mdletshe.
Through his unique style, Mdletshe has carved out a space for himself and others, particularly people with phocomelia.
“I wanted to represent people with disabilities and show that you can lead a normal life and be just as capable,” he said.
Music remains at the core of Mdletshe’s journey.
Earlier this year he released his latest album, Now You See Me under the stage name of SKMatobela, which is available on digital platforms.
A hip-hop and gqom artist, his music now plays on mainstream platforms, earning him both royalties and recognition in the industry.
Mdletshe has shared the stage with some of South Africa’s biggest artists, including a standout performance at this year’s Ballito Pro free concerts.
