Salt Rock’s Linc Worship releases Christmas single

'Everlasting Father’ strikes a festive chord.

Linc Worship, a contemporary Christian worship band based at Linc Church in Salt Rock, continues to inspire with their heartfelt music and unwavering faith.

Founded in 2021 by John-David (JD) Mac Millan and Ashleigh Duggan, the band has made remarkable strides in the music world, releasing their latest Christmas single, Everlasting Father. This festive song, co-written with band member Gibbs Wynne, celebrates the story of Christmas.

Blending soft rock with cherished carol lyrics, Everlasting Father has struck a chord with audiences, garnering nearly 70 000 views on YouTube.

The band’s vision is clear: to glorify Jesus and bring people closer to Him through worship.

“Our mission is to build up the local church through song and sound,” says Mac Millan. “Our hope and prayer is for people to encounter Jesus, revere His holiness, and develop a heart of gratitude for who He is.”

Formed during the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic, Linc Worship has become a beacon of hope and connection.

Over four years, they have released three EPs and four singles, collaborating with a variety of talented artists and musicians to craft music that bridges genres and touches hearts.

The band is not afraid to experiment with different sounds. Their vibrant track iKhayalethu showcases this versatility, featuring artists such as Majozi, Langa Mbonambi, Ash Behrens and Liv Village.

Meaning “our home” in Zulu, the song blends Afro-pop influences with a Zulu choir, electric guitars, and string instruments like the cello and violin. “This song is about hope,” said Mac Millan. “We wanted to bring hope to South Africa and unite people.”

With its contemporary Afro-pop flair and echoes of Johnny Clegg and Paul Simon, iKhayalethu has become a standout track in their catalogue.

Linc Worship’s latest EP, Courts, recorded live and released on September 27, continues to capture their mission of worship and connection. Collaborating with Stefan Green and Mbonambi, the title track has already attracted more than 30 000 YouTube plays.

The band remains deeply rooted in their community, leading worship every Sunday at Linc Church in Salt Rock. Their music, available on platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, Deezer, and TIDAL, resonates far beyond the walls of the church, touching lives across the globe.

As Linc Worship continues to create music that celebrates faith, their songs serve as a reminder of the power of worship to bring people together and glorify God.
