Holidaymaker airlifted after Junction parking lot accident
The helicopter landed on the roof of the neighbouring Odyssey Mall.
A 68-year-old holidaymaker was airlifted to hospital today, after being struck by a car in the top parking lot of Ballito Junction Shopping Centre.
According to Samantha Meyrick from IPSS Medical Rescue, the woman was found in a critical condition.
“Given the severity of her head injuries, the Air Mercy Services helicopter was called in while IPSS Medical Rescue’s advanced life support paramedics worked to stabilise her. They intubated her and placed her on a ventilator,” said Meyrick.
Due to limited space at the Junction, the helicopter landed on the roof of the neighbouring Odyssey Mall to facilitate the airlift.
