Paddler makes gruesome discovery, bodies recovered from Umdloti and Westbrook beaches

Search and rescue teams found two deceased bodies on the popular North Coast beaches, south of Ballito.

The bodies of two men were recovered from North Coast beaches this morning.

A paddler off Umdloti beach spotted the first body floating offshore early this morning. A second body was found washed up on Westbrook beach, 12.6km north of Umdloti.

IPSS spokesperson Samantha Meyrick said they were able to recover both bodies alongside Saps Search & Rescue and Durban Metro Police Search & Rescue and the Tongaat division of IPSS Search & Rescue.
