Soaking up the beach vibes in Ballito

Reconciliation Day provided the perfect opportunity to get the festive holiday season underway.

 

Locals and holidaymakers flocked to the North Coast beaches on Reconciliation Day to enjoy the warm weather and festive atmosphere today.

With police guarding controlling entry points and lifeguards on duty, beachgoers could relax in the knowledge that they were in safe hands.

Thompson’s Bay, one of Ballito’s Blue Flag beaches, was alive with activity, as families gathered to soak in the coastal vibes.

Tshenolo Kekana found joy playing in the biggest sandpit imaginable.
Chill session for Amarachi Miya, Zama Zikalala, Ayabonga Zikalala, Chennile Miya, Amahle and Ayanda Zikalala.

Johannesburg visitor Zama Zikalala shared her excitement about being on the North Coast with her family.

“The weather is cool, and we’re just letting loose,” she said.

Another visitor, Visha Maharaj, who travelled from the South Coast, praised the North Coast’s beaches.

Olwethu Lungwase and Senamile Sibiya.

“The North Coast couldn’t be a better choice for a relaxing getaway,” she said.

Adding to the festive cheer were the vendors selling paintings, bags, ice cream and many other goods.
