Tongaat star shines at ZEE TV Miss India South Africa pageant

Karuna Eraman dazzles as she claims the titles of 1st Princess and Miss Charity, blending beauty, talent, and a passion for giving back.

Tongaat beauty Karuna Eraman certainly made an impression on the judges of the 2024 ZEE TV Miss India South Africa pageant last Sunday.

She was crowned 1st Princess and Miss Charity at the glittering event at the Durban Jewish Centre.

Karuna Eraman was named second runner-up at the 2024 ZEE TV Miss India South Africa pageant in Durban.

“It was a moment of pure joy and gratitude. All the late nights, hard work, and the emotional rollercoaster of my journey flashed through my mind when my name was called,” she said.

The finalists were judged on five segments – interview, evening gown, talent, Eastern wear and finally a question-and-answer session. In the run-up to the final, contestants were taught modelling and fashion, and underwent etiquette, speech and eloquence training.

Eraman has just completed her final year at law school but still finds time for beauty pageants, charity work and various hobbies. She has been involved in the industry since she was 14 and has won 19 titles. The 22-year-old is a professional dancer, choreographer and model and even boasts a black belt in Shotokan karate. Charity work is one of her main drivers, however.

“Winning the Miss Charity category has reinforced my dedication to charity and volunteer work,” said Eraman. “It is something I have been passionate about from a young age.”
