Boxer CEO Marek Masojada to address Business@Breakfast event about resilience in retail
The low-cost retailer enjoyed the biggest listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange since 2017 when it launched last year.
Boxer’s debut on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange last November was the biggest listing since 2017.
The unbelievably successful launch saw Boxer Retail Ltd overtake the market capitalisation of its parent company Pick n Pay. Not bad for a company that started as a cash-and-carry in Empangeni in 1977.
You have the opportunity to hear all about the rise of South Africa’s biggest discount retailer and its recent victories from one of the leading figures behind it, Boxer CEO, Marek Masojada.
Masojada is the guest speaker at the upcoming Business@Breakfast event, hosted by the iLembe Chamber of Commerce, the Robert Group and The North Coast Courier.
He has had a 32-year journey with Boxer since first joining in 1993 when there were just five stores and an annual turnover of R120-million. Boxer’s turnover is now measured in the billions and the company operates over 500 stores across South Africa and neighbouring eSwatini.
Masojada was head of finance for 25 years, before becoming managing executive in 2019 and CEO last year. He has in-depth knowledge of the retail and business landscape of KwaZulu-Natal and South Africa and his insight will be well worth the price of admission.
There are limited seats available for the Business@Breakfast event, hosted at Workshop17 at Ballito Junction on March 19 at 8.15am.
Tickets cost R280 for iLembe Chamber members and R375 for non-members. Phone Ntombifuthi at 087 354 6343 or email ntombifuthi@ilembechamber.co.za to secure your place before March 17.
