Healing lessons from the sea at Wednesday Club workshop
Wednesday Social Club members enjoyed a demonstration on how to make healing art from sea glass.
Sea glass and storytelling merged in a soulful workshop of healing and reflection for the Wednesday Social Club in Westbrook.
The therapeutic workshop was hosted by author and motivational speaker Madelaine Snoer at Spice Restaurant.
Themed #MySeaGlassStories, Snoer guided club members on a reflective journey of self-discovery using sea glass collected from the shores of the Dolphin Coast.
These glass fragments, which were once sharp and broken, have been smoothed and frosted by the ocean over time, symbolising resilience and the transformative power of nature. Club chairperson Filippa Heyneke emphasised that the workshop offered much more than just artistic inspiration, it held deep spiritual significance related to healing, embracing change, resilience and transformation.
“Sea glass is regarded as a symbol of renewal and healing, a metaphor for life. It represents the idea that even in difficult times, beauty and strength can emerge,” she said.
