A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the brutal assault of a 21-year-old at a popular nightclub in Ballito Village earlier this month.

The man, believed to be a nightclub bouncer, was arrested today during a joint operation by the South African Police Service (Saps) and Ensure Security.

Kyle van Reenen of Ensure Security confirmed that the team arrested the man at his home within a newly developed residential estate off the R102 in Umhlali.

iLembe police communication officer Priya Nunkumar-Bukum said the suspect has been charged with assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) and is expected to appear in the KwaDukuza Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
