Hosted at Zimbali Country Club, the event also honoured Priscilla Pundit’s 50 year’s of work in the legal profession. Jay Pundit and Company, founded by Priscilla’s late husband Jayprakash, is recognised as one of the most prominent law firms in KwaDukuza.

Councillor Sipho Zungu and Evelyn Genga.

Although Priscilla remains active at the firm (read more on Page 10), the reins are gradually being passed to her daughter Nishana, who paid tribute to the family’s impact.

“Tonight, we celebrate not just a company, but a journey, one that each of you here has helped shape. This firm was the heartbeat of my father, Pitaji, and it is our duty and honour to keep his legacy alive,” said Nishana.

Mishkara Maharaj and Kieran Pather.

“Almost ten years ago, my mum and I became the sole custodians of this firm. Together, we upheld the virtues and high standards that Jay Pundit and Company were built on,” said Nishana.

A symbolic new chapter for the firm was also unveiled with the announcement of its relocation to the House of Dharma, a historic family home that once belonged to Pundit’s grandfather, Beesham Jungbahadur Pundit.
