Dube TradePort unveils new economic hub Iziko@Dube
The mixed-use building will eventually welcome 1 800 employees.
Around 1 800 employees will soon occupy Iziko@Dube, the newest addition to the ever-expanding Dube TradePort precinct.
Launched last month, the seven-storey mixed-use building will house one of KZN’s largest business process outsourcing (BPO) service providers, alongside the Durban Aerotropolis Visitors Centre and conference facilities.
The BPO service provider will occupy six floors and will initially employ 350 staff, with numbers expected to grow to 1 800 at full capacity.
“We are committed to positioning Dube City as a premier hub for both domestic and international businesses,” said Dube TradePort CEO Hamish Erskine.
“Iziko@Dube is a testament to our vision of fostering economic development, job creation and building a vibrant business ecosystem. We look forward to welcoming new enterprises that will contribute to the prosperity of our region.”
Several major businesses have been drawn to the precinct in recent years, benefitting from its strategic location, high-speed internet access and reliable power supply due to its proximity to King Shaka International Airport.
In the past two years alone, Toyota Ogihara invested R1.1-billion in a new manufacturing plant, while YOA expanded its cable manufacturing facility with a R160-million investment, among other developments.
