Ready, aim, party: Laser Rush brings the battle to Salt Rock

The venue is a great place for a kids’ party with plenty of activities available.

Laser Rush Ballito has levelled up – now operating from its brand-new home at Salt Rock Country Club, bringing its high-energy games to a bigger, better outdoor arena.

Previously based at Sugar Rush Park, Laser Rush has brought its full arsenal of Laser Tag, Gel Blasters and Archery to a sprawling outdoor arena at the club. Whether you are hosting a birthday party, office team build or a bachelor’s bash, this new venue offers even more room to duck, dive and dominate the battlefield.

On a recent visit for my child’s eighth birthday, booking with owner Rachel Janse van Vuuren was seamless.

The arena is designed for dynamic games like ‘Capture the Flag’, combining clever obstacle layouts with just the right level of challenge. Even with only 10 laser guns, the team rotates players efficiently so everyone gets plenty of game time. We had 12 children and one enthusiastic dad and it worked well.

I recommend adding the optional dog tag and bandana set to the party package. The kids love the dress-up aspect, which gives them a sense of mission and adds to the fun.

A special shout-out to Laser Rush staffer Jessica Msweli, who ran the party like a pro. She kept every child engaged, learning their names and making sure each one felt like part of the action. All I had to do was put out the snacks and enjoy my cappuccino – parent party bliss!

Archery is an excellent way to improve you strength,
co-ordination and focus.

Food options are sorted too. You are welcome to bring your own cake and party packs, but everything else must be ordered from the clubhouse. The kids devoured the wood-fired pizzas, but there are also a great selection of platters available for pre-order.

Laser Rush is open Tuesday to Sunday (daily during school holidays), from 9am to 5pm. Walk-ins are welcome in 30-minute slots, but it’s best to call ahead to secure your booking.

• Opening special for walk-ins (valid until October 31): Each player will receive a voucher to redeem on your next visit!
