Major revamp for Ballito Lifestyle SUPERSPAR in 2026
The revamp will be rolled out in phases to minimise disruption, with much of the construction taking place after hours.
Ballito’s Lifestyle SUPERSPAR, the anchor tenant at Lifestyle Centre, is set to undergo a major revamp in 2026 – the most significant upgrade in the store’s 22-year history.
The supermarket will expand from 2 235m² to 3 235m², allowing for a more spacious layout and the introduction of new departments. Co-owner Bruce Rencken said the upgrade is aimed at enhancing customer convenience and elevating the quality and variety across all sections.
”We will remain open throughout 2026, with work being done in carefully planned phases to minimise any disruption,” said Rencken
Notable changes include the doubling in size of the Butchery and Bakery departments, along with the addition of an artisanal deli, cheese section, expanded sushi station and a new curry bar. The Wine Department will also be significantly expanded, offering a more curated and immersive browsing experience.
Rencken said the store redesign prioritises intuitive layout, modern technology and improved flow, catering to quick pop-in shoppers as well as bulk buyers. The revamp will be rolled out in phases to minimise disruption, with much of the construction taking place after hours.

Key dates include:
-
New wine department: April 2026.
-
Butchery and bakery reopening: mid-May.
-
Take-away section: July.
-
Deli and sushi section: mid-August.
-
Revamped produce area: end of September.
The final unveiling is expected in October.
The upgrade is part of Lifestyle Centre’s long-term commitment to staying aligned with local needs and community values.
“I’m hugely excited about the fact that the upgraded Lifestyle SUPERSPAR will be fresher, more inspiring and more aligned than ever with the way Ballito lives, shops and connects,” said Rencken.
