Upcoming events on the North Coast social calendar
The Dulux ‘Joy Dogs’, a restaurant reunion and beach clean-up are all happening in town this weekend.

21 January – North Coast Chess Club’s first meeting of 2026 at Bean There Café at Ballito Hills Estate at 5pm. All ages and experience levels welcome. Club meets weekly at same time and location going forward. Contact Zoe at 082 455 3098.
22 January – Sundowners on Eat Street between 4-6pm with DJ Royal Love.
23 January – Hale Mary will create the perfect vibe at The Market on Friday from 6-9pm, while Quiet Storm will keep you entertained at Eat Street between 6.30-9.30pm.
23 and 25 January – The Dulux ‘Joy Dogs’ will be at BBS Mica Build Ballito for promos. 12-3pm on Friday and 10.30am-1.30pm on Sunday at 11 Moffat Drive. Free ice creams for kids.
24 January – Enjoy breakfast with Calli Thompson at The Studios between 10.30am-12.30pm, before dinner at The Market with Dave Imrie from 6-9pm or at Eat Street with Chuck Bowden between 6.30-9.30pm.
– Blu reunion at Mozambik Ballito with live music by the Phillip Taylor Band from 1pm. Food and drink specials, with funds being raised for the Ballito Beach Collective. Call the restaurant at 032 946 0979 to book.
25 January – First beach clean-up of 2026 at Zimbali Long Beach from 7-9am. Bring your gloves and a water bottle. Meet at Foch le Roux parking area.
– Catch Suits of Armour over lunch between 12.30-3.30pm at The Market, with The Kickstands performing at Eat Street between 1-4pm.
29 January – The Ballito Writers’ Group January meeting at the Ballito Library at 10.30am. All welcome. Speaker: Dr Thabani Mazibiko – author and chairperson of the South African Space Technology for Sustainable Development Foundation.
1 February – Blythedale Trail Run with 5, 11 and 19km options. Details and tickets at kzntrailrunning.co.za.

• Thursday: Salt Rock Farmers’ Market, 7am-12pm, at Slow Roads Collective.
• First Friday of every month: Burnedale Farm Night Market, 4.30-8.30pm in Umhlali.
• Last Friday of every month: Market 032 night market, 5.30-8.30pm at La Montagne.
• Saturday and Sunday and selected public holidays: Ballito Farmers Market, 8am-3pm at Lower Oaklands Farm, Umhlali.
