Prince’s Grant hosts scenic wine walk through golf estate

The hilly 3km walk was helped greatly by regular wine stops.

Wine lovers descended on Prince’s Grant Golf Estate last Saturday for an evening that blended scenic strolling with exceptional wine tasting.

More than 30 oenophiles made their way through the estate on a relaxed 3km route, stopping at curated stations along the golf course to sample a selection of Boschendal wines. Despite the humidity and the estate’s undulating hills, with a few unexpectedly steep climbs, guests kept their spirits high by quenching their thirst at various holes.

The night ended with a 20-minute talk about the wine estate at the clubhouse, followed by a generous harvest-table buffet.

Kerry Daniel and Marianne Baptiste.

Event organiser and commercial manager of the estate, Daryn Bowers, said he was thrilled with the turnout and wanted to offer something more immersive than a traditional wine pairing.

“It’s all about getting together as a community and building relationships,” said Bowers.

Prince’s Grant resident Vaughan Baptiste echoed the sentiment.

“Tonight was absolutely amazing!” he said. “I would love to do this again.”
