Ballito Hindu Dharma Sabha hosts vibrant Holi ColourFest

The annual Holi festival marks the triumph of good over evil.

Colour, laughter and music filled the air in Ballito on Sunday as the Ballito Hindu Dharma Sabha hosted the Holi festival at Townsend Park.

Families, friends and children took part in the joyful celebration, dancing to music and embracing the festive spirit.

According to event organiser Neerisha Kuarpersad, Holi is a vibrant Hindu festival marking the arrival of spring in India and the triumph of good over evil.

Celebrated annually, it symbolises renewal, love and the repair of relationships.

All guns blazing as everyone gets sprayed with water and colourful powder.

It is known as the ‘festival of colours’, where participants smear each other with paint to celebrate joy and equality.

“We wish to thank everyone who joined the Holi ColourFest celebration. The energy and support made the day truly special,” said Kuarpersad.

“A big thank you to all the vendors for the delicious food, sweet treats, unique shopping experiences, medical and wellness stalls, dancers and entertainers who made the event even more vibrant and colourful.”
