Fundraisers, food and fun events to look out for in Ballito

19 March – Sundowners on Eat Street with DJ Greenhouse from 4-6pm before open mic at The Market from 6-8pm.

20 March – Live music with Tiaan Rivers at La Piazza Ballito from 5-8pm.

– Get your weekend started with Suits of Armour at The Market between 6-9pm or at Eat Street with Quiet Storm from 6.30-9.30pm.

21 March – Enjoy breakfast with Ryan Lawler at The Studios from 10.30am-12.30pm, followed by dinner with Chuck Bowden at The Market between 6-9pm or at Eat Street with Hale Mary from 6.30-9.30pm.

22 March – Durban Hiking and Adventures 8km beach hike from Tiffany’s Beach to Christmas Bay and back. Optional extension to Tinley Manor. Tickets R199pp for adults or R129pp for U13s from Quicket.

– Hose Down fundraiser for Amanda Lino title fight and St Luke’s Home of Healing in Ballito Village from 12pm. Bike washes, music, food and drinks. Note: The date changed from the initially published 21st of March to the 22nd.

– Sunday lunch with the Black Lapels at The Market between 12.30-3.30pm or The Kickstands at Eat Street from 1-4pm.

26 March – Ballito Writers Group Meeting at the Ballito Library at 10.30am with tea. All welcome. Author Lunga Ntuli will speak about his latest book, Nomfundo: The Girl Who Chose to Rise. Contact Peter at 083 441 1950.

– StorySlam KZN at Butcher & Wine in Salt Rock Centre. Dinner from 5.30pm, storytelling from 7pm. Five speakers each tell a five minute true story. R100pp in support of the DKS Scholarship Fund. All welcome to tell a story, contact Karen Doveton at 084 900 5444.

28 March – Merv the Swerv comedy show at Sibaya Casino at 8pm. Tickets R150pp from Ticketpro.

29 March – Beach clean-up at Zimbali Long Beach from 7-9am. Meet at Foch le Roux parking, bring your own gloves and water. Community service hours available.

• Thursday and Sunday: Salt Rock Farmers’ Market at Slow Roads Collective. 7am-12pm on Thursday and 9am-1pm on Sunday.
• First Friday of every month: Burnedale Farm Night Market, 4.30-8.30pm in Umhlali.
• Last Friday of every month: Market 032 night market, 5.30-8.30pm at La Montagne.
• Saturday and Sunday and selected public holidays: Ballito Farmers Market, 8am-3pm at Lower Oaklands Farm, Umhlali.
